There are times around McLean Bible Church where things get going so quickly that we don’t get a chance to look back and celebrate what God has done. Or rather, we don’t make time to look back and celebrate. This summer has been like that. I realized I haven’t given you any updates on two major events over the past few weeks, so it’s time to fix that.
First, the Preview Service on July 19th was amazing. We had almost 400 people attend. Alyce and the band did a great job. Our tech team worked together seamlessly. The greeters were welcoming and friendly.
I personally loved having all the kids in the service, but then again, I didn’t have to keep any of them occupied! I loved seeing Mark and Tonya up front with their kids, even if Roman wanted to go onstage with Alyce. We so appreciate what Kid’s Quest does on a weekly basis. They will be up and running at the next preview on August 23.
Then this past Tuesday was the Joe Gibbs ”Game Plan for Life”. I think this may be one of my favorite events that MBC has done - and I’m not a football fan at all. I loved that MBC Internet, MBC Loudoun, MBC Prince William, Frontline, and MBC Tysons all worked together on an event. It was a great reminder that we are one church at many locations.
At the MBC Prince William Campus, we had a blast. Families ate Red Hot and Blue and spent time getting to know each other. Guys, and a few ladies, enjoyed checking out the Gibbs Racing Team car. I’ll put up pictures soon. One of the complaints I often hear about MBC is that we’re too big. I feel like MBC Prince William gives us the opportunity to feel more like a smaller church, but with the quality and resources of a larger one.
Between all the campuses, over 4200 people got to hear Joe Gibbs talk about Christ. That’s pretty amazing. It was definitely a good night for the Kingdom.

The staff at MBC Prince William is in the process of memorizing Scripture using NavPress’ Topical Memory System. If you haven’t heard about this system, I recommend you check it out. It’s a great way to memorize Scripture strategically. Since Alyce and I have only officially been with MBC PW for 6 weeks now, we’re a little behind the rest of the staff, but we’re committed to catching up. Feel free to quiz me when you see me - it will be a great way to keep me on top of it.
As God would work, topic of this week’s verses is Witnessing.
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” - Matthew 4:19
“I am not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes, first for the Jew and then for the Gentile.” - Romans 1:18
Why am I bringing this up now? Well, we have the perfect opportunity for you to live out these verses. This Tuesday night, Coach Joe Gibbs will be sharing what he has learned about the importance of having a game plan for life. This is the perfect opportunity for you to invite a friend who might not want to go to a church, but who would love to hear Joe Gibbs. Coach Gibbs will be live at the MBC Tysons Campus, but we will be broadcasting over the Internet and to the MBC Loudoun and MBC Prince William Campus.
As an incentive for you to come to MBC Prince William, one of Coach Gibb’s show cars will be at our PW Campus. We’ll be tailgating in the parking lot starting at 6 pm. So invite your friends. For more information, go to www.mcleanbible.org/gibbs.
See you on Tuesday!

The auditorium chairs are now set up. Bibles have been placed under the chairs. The audio and video systems are up and running. The Newcomer and Connect Room has chairs in it. The electrician is coming tomorrow to work on the theatrical lighting system. Only 3 more days until the first preview event at MBC Prince William.
I want to say a huge word of thanks to all the volunteers who came out tonight to help set up chairs and hang drapes in the auditorium. With your help, it only took an hour to set 750 chairs in rows. I also want to give a shout out to our amazing technical staff lead by Dave Schatzman and Craig Campesi. They have been working night and day for weeks to get the auditorium ready for our first preview. They are the hidden heros here at MBC, always serving behind the scenes. They will continue refinining and adding more to our system over the next several months, but I know they’ve been working hard in preparation for this weekend. If you see any of them, please tell them you appreciate all their hard work.
And don’t forget to invite your friends. This Sunday, July 19 at 10:45 am in the MBC Prince William Auditorium. See you there!

It has been a crazy month for the MBC - Prince William Creative Arts Team… and for the MBC - Prince William staff in general. There is so much to let you all know about. I am so glad to be able to launch this blog!
Think of this blog as a place to get connected online to what’s going on in the Arts community at MBC-Prince William Campus. Over the next few weeks, we will be introducing our staff, keeping you informed of important information, and sharing what God has put on our hearts. We LOVE feedback, so feel free to post comments. We will ask for feedback from time to time, but we are always open to hearing what you’re thinking. If you’d like to get involved at MBC-PW, let us know! Check out the “Contact Us” page for more information.
The first thing we want to get on your calendar is the Preview Service this Sunday at 10:45 am at our newly opened campus at 10002 Battleview Parkway, Manassas, VA. Alyce Metallo will be leading worship and we will be rebroadcasting part one of Lon’s vision message from earlier this year. Come see how MBC-Prince William fits into the vision for McLean Bible Church.
